Hydro jetting and drain line cleaning

When jetting is the right answer

• Grease buildup. The classic commercial kitchen problem, and common in homes too. Grease coats the pipe wall and narrows it progressively. Snaking punches through, jetting removes it.
• Root intrusion. Roots enter at joints and grow into a mat. Jetting cuts and flushes them out. Note that it clears the roots but not the crack that let them in, so if roots keep returning, the pipe needs repair.
• Sludge and solids. Accumulated material in lines that have run slow for a long time.
• Scale and mineral buildup in older pipe.
• Recurring blockages. If you're snaking the same line twice a year, snaking isn't fixing it.

When it isn't

We'd rather tell you this up front than take the job and cause damage.

• Collapsed or badly broken pipe. Jetting can't fix a structural failure. You need excavation and replacement. If we suspect this, we say so before running equipment.
• Very old or fragile pipe. Orangeburg, old clay, or badly corroded cast iron may not take full pressure. We assess condition first and adjust or recommend a different approach.
• A drainfield problem misread as a line problem. If your septic system is backing up because the field has failed, jetting the line achieves nothing. This is why we diagnose before we jet.

How the job goes

   Diagnose

   Where's the blockage, what's likely causing it, and is jetting the right tool. On a septic property that includes checking whether the tank and field are actually the problem.

2. 2

   Access

   Through a cleanout where one exists. If there isn't one, we'll talk to you about installing one, because it makes every future service cheaper.

3. 3

   Jet the line

   High-pressure water, with the nozzle selected for what's in the pipe. Working the full run rather than just to the blockage, so you get the whole diameter back.

4. 4

   Verify

   Flow tested. On a recurring problem, camera confirmation that the line is genuinely clear and an assessment of whether the pipe itself needs attention.

Commercial jetting

Restaurants and commercial kitchens are the heaviest users of this service, usually alongside grease trap service. If your kitchen lines are slowing between trap services, that's a signal the trap interval is too long or the trap is undersized, and we'll tell you which rather than just selling you more jetting.

What it costs

What moves it: line length, severity, access, whether a cleanout exists, and whether camera work is included.
